Victoria College - a brief overview.

Founded in 1859 Victoria College is one of the oldest Girls’ schools in the British Isles. Originally sited in Wellington Place in central Belfast it was known as The Ladies' Collegiate School Belfast. In Queen Victoria’s jubilee year in 1887 and by royal command the school was renamed “Victoria College and School.” 100 years later Victoria would merge with Richmond Lodge School.

Victoria College now has two sites in the Malone Road area of south Belfast. Victoria is a large girls’ school with almost 900 pupils, 45 boarding pupils and a preparatory department with 205 pupils. Demand for places in year 8 is usually high.

Victoria College uses the new SEAG Single Entrance Transfer Test results as part of its intake criteria into year 8.
