School Intake Information
Slemish College, Ballymena
Slemish College, Ballymena- a brief overview.

Slemish College was Northern Ireland’s first planned Integrated secondary school. It began in response to parental demand for an integrated college in Ballymena, County Antrim. There were a number of integrated primary and nursery schools in the area and parents wanted a secondary school option to ensure that their children could continue with their integrated education. The new Slemish College was founded in 1996 with 84 pupils and 7 teaching staff. Today the school is one of the most heavily over-subscribed schools in Northern Ireland and has almost 800 pupils. A number of pupils can enter year 8 based on their Transfer Test results – academic entry.
Slemish College uses the new SEAG Single Entrance Transfer Test results as part of its intake criteria into year 8.
