Our Lady and St Patrick’s College was founded in 1985 following the merger of the Sacred Heart of Mary Grammar School in Holywood, County Down and St Patrick’s College, Knock. The College is a co-educational school that is situated in the Gilnahirk Hills on the outskirts of East Belfast. The college is a very large school with almost 1300 pupils aged between 11 and 19 years of age. The school accepts 182 pupils into year 8 and is often heavily over-subscribed. In recent years the competition for entry has been very high and only pupils with top marks in the Transfer Test have gained entry into the college.
