Loreto Grammar School, Omagh - a brief overview.

Loreto Grammar school, in the town of Omagh, was founded in 1855 in a small house in George’s Street. The boarding department closed in 1975 and the school has seen its facilities improve over recent years and now it has educational facilities that are first class. It is a Catholic girls’ grammar school with a long educational tradition and in 2018 was ranked 12th out of 191 Northern Ireland schools. Initially many of the teaching staff would have been members of the Loreto Sisters Order but the last sister retired from the teaching staff in 2000.
Loreto Grammar school uses the new SEAG Single Entrance Transfer Test results as part of its intake criteria into year 8.
